ก่อตั้งเมื่อปี 1858 ภายใต้ชื่อ School of Art in Sidney Street, Cambridge นอกจากนี้ Anglia Ruskin University เป็นหนึ่งในมหาวิทยาลัยที่ใหญ่ที่สุดทางตะวันออกของประเทศอังกฤษ มหาวิทยาลัยตั้งอยู่ 2 เมือง ได้แก่
